Hello Coffee Lovers.

One of Kopi Social’s initiatives is to reduce packaging waste. As regular coffee drinkers, we will end up buying plenty of fresh coffee but each coffee bag is usually difficult to recycle as they are usually a mix of foil, plastic, and paper. By reusing refillable containers (we recommend Airscape©), we can reduce the need for packaging from roaster to us and to you.

We work with our partner roasters directly and we make it known to our roasters on sustainable, ethical sourcing from farmers. In this area, we work with Project Origin.

Here’s how we usually order. (Message us on Instagram or Facebook to join the Whatsapp Group.)

Typical Order Timeline

The above timeline is a guide and occasions such as Christmas or major public holidays may disrupt the schedule but most of the time, Wednesday of the week will be when orders are closed for weekend pickup. Some roasters require a bit more notice so the order cut-off may be on Tuesday evenings.

Pickups are usually in SS 1 or Section 13, Petaling Jaya.

DRINKING DATES & DEGASSING

Note also that our coffee is usually roasted on order so it is usually too fresh to drink when you pick it up. We recommend that beans are rested about 7 days from the roast date, i.e. if your beans are roasted on April 11, we recommend drinking them on April 18.

PICKUP IS PURELY BYOC (Bring Your Own Container) or we will sell you a recycled bag for RM10.
WE NO LONGER PROVIDE BAGS AS OF MAY 2024.
PAYMENT IS STRICTLY DUITNOW QR OR TNG eWALLET EFFECTIVE APRIL 2024.

Bring-your-own-container helps reduce packaging at the roaster level and allows us to buy freshly roasted beans in bulk – similar to many cafes. This means that you would need to bring your own container. While we recommend Airscape™ cans, the ideal container is solid (keeps light out), is airtight, and vacuum (minimized air).

ORDER CONFIRMATIONS & ODD-LOTS

Our partner roasters have differing Minimum Order Quantities or MOQs). However, for each and every specific coffee, we would need an order of 1kg and rounded to kilograms per order. This means that we cannot order 2.5kg or 0.5kg of a coffee. This 0.5kg gap is called an odd lot.

While we will make efforts to find buyers for the odd lots, we may need to cancel the last order to round the order down. If 5 people order 0.5kg of a coffee, and we have no takers to round up the order to 3kg, the fifth person will have their order canceled. While this isn’t ideal, we are obtaining freshly roasted coffee at wholesale pricing. Note that we will inform you if the order may be canceled and you may elect to up the order instead.

Sustainable Coffee – from Farmer to You

We work with roasters that source direct from the farmers and producers themselves so that we can ensure an equitable income for all. After all, that $10,000 coffee machine will still produce crap if you feed it crap coffee.
